About the course

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs.

Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

Work Placement

Students will attend work placement at an aged care facility & with an NDIS Provider to complete 120 hours in total.

RPL & Credit Transfer

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where skills and knowledge gained through work and life experience and other unrecognised training can be formally recognised.

To apply for RPL, complete and return an RPL Application Form. Your application will then be assessed for suitability and you will be contacted by an assessor to progress the process.

Credit Transfer: Students may also be eligible for credit transfer for relevant units studied at an Australian Registered Training Organisation. Credits may lead to a reduction in course fees, and the outcome of your application will be advised in writing.
